Pool Installation Process
Installing a fiberglass swimming pool is typically straightforward, though some sites pose challenges. Our process begins with a mark-out appointment where our site manager meets with the client to discuss and finalize all installation details. Excavation then begins to remove soil, which can sometimes involve temporary stockpiling due to the pace of digging. However, we ensure all soil is cleared before moving on to the next phase.
Excavation usually spans one to four days, contingent on site size and conditions, with utmost care taken to preserve the surrounding garden and minimize disruption to the client's property. Despite precautions, minimal damage to the grass near the pool area from foot traffic and equipment may occur, promptly rectified by cleaning and aeration upon completion.
Once excavation is complete, the fiberglass shell arrives on-site and is carefully positioned using our trucks equipped with mounted cranes, a dramatic moment Sundance Pools prides itself on. These cranes are crucial in ensuring safe, damage-free delivery and placement of the fiberglass shell.
With the pool in place, levels are checked and it's immediately filled with water, typically taking one to three days depending on its size. Backfilling occurs simultaneously to maintain even levels and shape. Meanwhile, pump and filter installation, electrical connections, and optional salt water chlorinator setup are completed.
A concrete collar, known as a ring beam, is then cast around the pool's top edge, securing it and preventing paving collapse—a step often overlooked by other companies to cut costs. Paving follows, meticulously laid by our skilled crews to complement the pool's aesthetics.
Once paving is complete, the pool undergoes final cleaning, chemical treatment, and operational setup, including installing equipment like the Barracuda pool cleaner. After clearing all debris and perfecting the surrounding garden, we present the client with a sparkling pool, demonstrating its operation and leaving behind an instruction booklet and a 10-year structural guarantee.
